I love the idea of freelance work from my sailboat, but, am I the right type for life on a boat? The boat "Natural Heeling" is not that big, a 21ft Sirius with a small cabin/kitchen...and a crazy-small head (toilet). It cost only $3,000.
As a career counsellor I would tell a client to take some tests to figure it out. My tests always recommend crazy things like Teacher, Plumber, and Rabbi.....I'm not even Jewish. However, I did check to make sure my butt-crack was not exposed. Well, this morning I took a Keirsey personality test and I am Idealistic. That means I like to do things differently, enjoy having control on my work enviroment, like to help people, and sometimes need to get away from people to "recharge". Sounds like good personality to work from a boat. But what about the skills...what do I have to be good at to be a "Floating Freelancer"?

Sounds like you've got it all Terry! The only thing missing is a warmer climate where you can sail and work all year round!
ReplyDeleteWell, I did bring a space heater into the boat for the cold mornings...not really the same as anchored at a Caribbean Island.
