It's worth it to keep your kids. My daughters bought me a set of BlueChart maps for my Garmin GPS (which they also bought for me). With the nautical maps this GPS is a perfect gadget for getting around the lakes, especially when looking for great places to anchor for a day of online work.
With the push of a button I can locate recommended anchor spots close to my sailing location. I can also call up tons of details about the nearby marinas, such as services, washroom facilities, restaurant, and accommodations. I can see myself using this gadget to locate marinas to hang out at for the day.
I especially like the "anchor slippage", a warning that sounds if the boat anchors slip...great if you're "sleeping on the job"!

I have "slipped away' for a while, Terry and have returned and am thrilled you are still charting your course. Looks like you've found another aspect of GPS tool to play with.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole;
ReplyDeleteYa, I love gadgets.
I noticed on Venture Academey's website they are looking for an Internet Liasion to participate in internet dialogue for the purpose of helping troubled teens and paraents of troubled teens. The ultimate purpose would be to referr teens to Venture Academy. I really like the work environment, being able to do this from anywhere (even a sailboat). And, I could start off on a casual after-hours basis. Remuneration is tied to referrals. I'm not 100% if it's congurent with my work/life purpose. I like the idea of the holestic approach to helping teens with all and any life challange. I like the idea that Venture Academey assists with putting family back togehter. It's a bit of a diversion from Career Counselling. But, I got into career counselling since it seems to bring peace and joy to lives, that ultimately improves families. Families are the fiber our society. I want to use my gifts to help society.
I think I just answered my own questions....I can see myself experiencing fulfillment with helping families.
Thanks for being an open-eared blogger.
